04 / 2011 - Back to Australia

After a successful round of workshops in Bangkok I am now back in Australia - with a lot of things on my agenda:

My main objectives are to reconnect with my contacts with Extra Lesson teachers there, collecting information about inservice training needs for Steiner teacher in the field of developmental learning support, and offering courses.

At the end of March I will go on to Melbourne and connect with Warranwood also on behalf of further remedial teacher training and concept development.

After Easter flight to Adelaide to pick up contacts to Mt. Barker Waldorf school and other friends involved in teacher training.
Beginning of May one week of intensive work at Willunga Waldorf school with parents, teachers and children with practical application of developmental learning support. Field study with the special ed. team there to share experiences.

Towards the end of May move back to Melbourne and set up a base for further action. Flight back to Germany by the end of June.

Please contact me if you want me to come and give a talk on Infant Reflex Integration and Behaviour.

05 / 2010 - Next Stop: New Zealand

After an inspiring stay in Australia I am now in New Zealand.

The goals of this stage are to build networks and new contacts to ultimately benefit my work as Coach on the Road. Next to visiting multiple Steiner schools across the country I will partake in NZ's first Kollisko Conference in July and facilitate a workshop.

Family Reunion!

Of course during this trip I am also enjoying enjoying this beautiful country and its people. And the fact that currently two of my sons are living here.

I am planning on travelling the country for the next month to come before staying in the larger Auckland area. In August I will fly back to Germany.

In the meantime it is my pleasure to announce that I have translated my book on Infant Reflexintegration, which was developed together with my colleague Bärbel Höllscher, into English and we are now closing in on its international publication. More on this soon!

02 / 2010 - On the Road Down Under - First Stop: Adelaide

Still having a suitcase waiting for me in Adelaide, I now returned to pick up the threads while taking the opportunity to catch up with some old friends. And so it begins... I am on the road!

My intentions in Adelaide were

-       to catch up with friends

-       to visit the three Steiner schools in the area

-       to establish contacts with teachers and parents and get a feeling for their needs as educators of children with challenges

-       to translate our book on reflex integration into English

-       to translate a songbook on reflex integration into German

All of the above goals were reached.  In addition I gave a talk to remedial teachers and therapists on Infant Reflexes, Motor Development and Behavioural Challenges at the Anthroposophical Society in Adelaide.

I also prepared and carried out child study sessions with the primary and high school faculties in two Steiner schools. These were fruitful and well received times of professional exchange, which enhanced a deeper understanding of the children involved and created an interest for more.

I was fortunate to be able to stay with friends and share parts of their free time. That way we explored some venues of the Adelaide Fringe Festival together, took some trips to the beach or the rain shadow landscape beyond the Adelaide Hills, which turned out to be used as a sculpture exhibit and conservation site.

Three further stops are planned with different priorities:

Melbourne: March-May

-       visit friends

-       edit translations and prepare them for publication

-       visit schools and teacher training

-       receive more training in Edu Kinesiology and Touch for Health

Auckland/ NZ: May-July

-       visit family

-       visit schools and support teachers

-       possibly give talks to interested public

-       visit Auckland Uni, to collect information on teacher training

-       travel NZ

-       facilitate workshop at Kolisko Conference in Cambridge, NZ

Bangkok,Thailand: August

-       teach course in curative teacher training on child study and individual support plans

-       visit schools and work with the teachers´questions

As of now I am planning to return to Germany at the end of August.
